ChordChange Privacy Policy

ChordChange is a chord-chart and set-list app for musicians and worship/gig bands. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short and plain.

Using ChordChange without an account

You can use ChordChange without creating an account (“local mode”). In local mode your songs, set lists, and settings are stored on your device and are not sent to our servers. Some collaborative features (bands, chat, shared library, announcements, and events) require an account.

Information we collect

When you create an account and use the collaborative features, we collect:

• Contact info — your email address and name, to create and secure your account, send password resets, and let bandmates recognize you.
• Your content — songs, charts, set lists, annotations, chat messages, announcements, and any photos or PDFs you add, so they sync to your account and are shared with the bands you belong to.
• Identifiers — an account ID, and (if you enable notifications) a device push token used only to deliver chat notifications.
• Usage data — basic in-app activity such as practice time and session counts, shown to your band’s administrators to track progress.
• Purchases — your subscription status (tier and expiry). Apple processes all payments; we never see or store your card details.

How we use it

Only to provide and run the app: your account, syncing your library and events, band collaboration, chat notifications, subscription entitlement, and support. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Service providers

We use a few processors to run the service, and they handle data only on our behalf:

• Render — application hosting and data storage.
• Cloudflare — content delivery and security in front of our API.
• Brevo — sending transactional emails such as password resets.
• Apple — App Store purchases and push notification delivery.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings ▸ (tap your account) ▸ Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and its associated data (profile, band memberships, your annotations and progress). Songs and events you delete are recoverable for 30 days, then permanently removed. You may also email us to request deletion.

Children

ChordChange is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this URL.
